MOGO, Airtel Uganda partner to launch smartphone loans
14.04.2025

MOGO Uganda has partnered with Airtel Uganda to launch an innovative smartphone loan program. This initiative aims to make smartphones more accessible to Ugandans by offering affordable financing options for popular Tecno, Infinix, and itel devices.
The program addresses a critical need for cost-effective smartphone access in Uganda, empowering individuals to connect, learn, and thrive in today’s digital economy. By reducing the financial barrier to smartphone ownership, this partnership is set to unlock opportunities for education, business, and social connectivity.
Customers can now own their preferred smartphone by paying an initial deposit as low as 28% of the device’s price. Daily repayments start from just UGX 848, with flexible options to spread payments over daily, weekly, or monthly installments for up to 52 weeks. This tailored approach ensures that individuals can manage payments according to their financial capabilities.
The application process is designed for convenience and inclusivity. Customers only need a national ID and a mobile-money-registered SIM card—no collateral or income verification required. Applications can be completed at Airtel Uganda stores or through MOGO’s authorized representatives, with approval times often under 15 minutes.
To further enhance the value of this program, Airtel Uganda offers customers 3GB of free data every month for three months upon purchasing a smartphone through this initiative. This data allowance enables users to explore digital opportunities without worrying about initial data costs, making it easier for them to leverage their new devices for education, business, or personal growth.
