On February 21st 2026, MOGO organized a vibrant Boda Boda Gala in Masajja, bringing together riders from across the surrounding areas in a celebration of sport, unity, and community engagement. The event attracted 10 teams representing different stages in various zones, including Masajja A & B, Kibiri, Gangu, Kanaba, and Namasuba.
The gala featured exciting activities such as football, ludo, and dance competitions all designed to foster camaraderie among riders. As always, sports proved to be a powerful unifier, creating an atmosphere of teamwork, friendly rivalry, and shared purpose. The football tournament was particularly intense, culminating in a thrilling final between Ndikutamadda and Masajja B.
After a 1–1 draw at full time, the match went to penalties, where Ndikuta madda emerged victorious with a 15–14 win. Ndikutamadda was crowned overall champion and awarded a billy goat, while first runners-up Masajja B also received a goat in recognition of their strong performance. Winners and second runners-up across various categories received goats and medals, while the dance competition winner walked away with a mobile phone.

Beyond competition, the gala placed strong emphasis on safety and wellbeing. MOGO distributed helmets to all team captains and reflectors to promote safer riding practices. Feature phones were also given out to support better communication among riders. In addition, free bike washing services were available to all riders at the grounds, reinforcing the importance of maintenance and road readiness.
The event was honored by the presence of the Chairman of Busabala Division as a special guest. We were also joined by key partners including Verma, Haojue, and Honda. Lapaire offered free eye testing services, while My Doctor provided free medical check-ups and professional health advice to riders.
We believe community outreach goes beyond financial services. Supporting boda boda riders through engagement, safety awareness, and health initiatives reflects our commitment to empowering the communities we serve.
