Zembo Motorcycles and MOGO Uganda Partner to Accelerate Access to Electric Mobility Solutions in Uganda

Zembo Motorcycles, a leading provider of electric motorcycles in Uganda, has announced a strategic partnership with MOGO Uganda, a subsidiary of Eleving Group, to expand access to electric mobility solutions nationwide.
Zembo Motorcycles specializes in assembling electric motorcycles in Uganda and collaborates with external financial institutions to offer innovative rent-to-own plans. Their unique battery-as-a-service model allows riders to easily swap discharged batteries with fully charged ones for an affordable fee, ensuring uninterrupted travel and convenience, while saving up to 30% versus fuel.
The Zembo Thunder motorcycle represents a pioneering effort in Africa to provide cleaner and more sustainable travel options. By switching to electric motorcycles, riders can contribute to reducing noise and air pollution in urban areas like Kampala, promoting a healthier and more environmentally friendly mode of transportation. The Zembo thunder was designed with and for Boda-boda drivers to meet the demands of intensive use on Kampala’s roads and hills.
As part of Eleving Group, MOGO Uganda is an international FinTech company operating in 15 countries across three continents. MOGO Uganda provides affordable financing options for various mobility needs, including used cars, Boda Boda, smartphones, cargo transporters, and Tuk Tuk loans. It is dedicated to empowering individuals to fulfill their daily mobility needs and achieve their bigger dreams.

With the financing option, MOGO allows its clients to purchase their preferred electric motorcycle model from Zembo at an affordable down payment of UGX 500,000, after which they would pay weekly installments that fit their budgetary limits.
